#1 Highest-Grossing Local Film Released in 2019
EJEN ALI THE MOVIE, an animated feature film from Primeworks Studios and WAU Animation about a young boy accidentally recruited as a secret agent, has crossed the RM30 million collections mark at the cinema box office today. The tremendous success of the Movie was earned through continuous support from movie-goers who thronged the cinemas repeatedly since the Movie’s release on 28 November 2019.
During the crowded year-end holiday period of the Movie’s release, EJEN ALI THE MOVIE remained steadfast against healthy competition from big-named Hollywood franchise films. Additionally, closing off what has been dubbed as the “Year of Malaysian Animation” with three blockbuster animation feature releases in 2019, EJEN ALI THE MOVIE emerged as Malaysia’s #1 local animated feature film and the #3 highest-grossing local film released of all time.

1 January 2020 further marked a very special date for fans of EJEN ALI in Indonesia, with the Movie released at 101 locations across the country. Available at selected CGV, Flix, Platinum, Kota Cinema and Cinépolis theatres, early reviews from Indonesia on social media have also been positive, including a special mention by Tere Liye, one of Indonesia’s leading novelists.
