Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has upgraded its facilities in
its efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 for your safety.
As airports are the main gateways into the country and considered places at risk, ensuring the safety of visitors is the highest priority for MAHB.
Check these visuals out below to learn how MAHB is making your journeys more joyful in these unprecedented times.
All passengers departing the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) terminal will now undergo body temperature screening through the use of thermal scanners placed before the check-in areas. The thermal scanners used are highly sensitive and able to detect body temperatures from a long range, thus allowing health workers to maintain social distance. These procedures continue to be performed diligently and passengers with a body temperature of above 38°C will have to undergo further health screening by MOH.
In line with the recommendation of the World Health Organisation (WHO), MAHB has installed social distancing markers of 1 metre gap each on the floors at the check-in, immigration and customs queuing areas. Likewise, gaps are also introduced in lifts and at the airport seating so that people can use them as a guide in practicing social distance.
High traffic facilities and critical touch points such as hand rails, trolleys, tabletops and lift buttons are frequently disinfected to ensure to safety of visitors. MAHB had also deployed 320 cleaners per shift compared to 288 before the Coronavirus outbreak.
The airport operator has also installed hand sanitizers at various locations for visitors’ convenience. Remember to always keep your hands clean and maintain a high hygiene level!
MAHB has allocated special medical bays for quarantine purposes at the arrival gates to cater to any passengers who are exhibiting symptoms of the virus.
For Malaysia Airports, proactive guest services play a significant role in increasing passenger satisfaction. The Airport CARE Ambassadors are there to assist and make passengers’ journeys smoother.
As a part of its Corporate Responsibility, MAHB has provided stranded passengers at the airport with MYAirportCARES comfort kits containing sleeping bags, toiletries and chocolate on a need basis. On top of that, MAHB has donated 2,000 units of MYAirportCARES comfort kits to the dedicated front liners at Hospital Sungai Buloh (HSB) who are working tirelessly to handle the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The MYAirportCARES comfort kits and cheer packages are a token of Malaysia Airports commitment to ensure the wellbeing of, not only of its airport guests but also the nation at large.
We would like to thank all frontliners, including at our airports, for their service and sacrifice.
You are already part of history as Malaysian heroes.
