AMWAY Malaysia Sdn Bhd (AMWAY Malaysia) earlier this week announced a donation of 100 Food Baskets worth RM32,360 to support the Social Welfare Department (JKM) in uplifting affected families in Sabah, currently the worst impacted state in Malaysia, following the third wave of COVID-19 outbreak.
Each food basket contains basic necessities which include 5kg rice bags, sardines, milk, eggs, noodles, biscuits, flour, salt, sugar and AMWAY Malaysia’s Pursue hand sanitizers, along with AMWAY’s long-termed business partner - Vergold’s Granola Bars.
In line with the Government aspirations to build a healthier Malaysia, AMWAY Malaysia has included in the Food Baskets, its Nutrilite™ Bio C Plus All Day Formula and Nutrilite™ Mixed Probiotic with Chicory Root Extract supplements which contain essential vitamins. These supplements will help address potential malnutrition effects among the families in need, which may have been exacerbated by the health crisis.

These supplements will help address potential malnutrition effects among the families in need, which may have been exacerbated by the health crisis.
The Nutrilite™ Bio C Plus All Day Formula is known for its extended release technology to ensure a sufficient daily dose of vitamin C. It is made from acerola cherries, one of nature’s most concentrated forms of vitamin C, essential for a strong immune system.
The Nutrilite™ Mixed Probiotic with Chicory Root Extract, meanwhile, provides probiotics at clinically supported levels for gut and immune health. Extensive research has shown that 70 percent of immunity cells are located in the gut lining, which is critical in supporting the body’s natural defenses.
Managing Director of AMWAY Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, Mike Duong said that AMWAY Malaysia is dedicated to bring positive social impacts to the communities by leveraging on its holistic nutrition and wellness solutions.
“AMWAY is a company with a committed vision of helping people live better and healthier lives. We believe the COVID-19 pandemic is a shared responsibility and observe the prevalent nutrition issues the pandemic may have brought into our communities. Recognizing these potential struggles, AMWAY Malaysia is collaborating with JKM to provide food aid and Nutrilite™ immune boosters made from the purest natural ingredients to fill the nutritional gaps in our communities during these challenging times.”
Receiving the donations on behalf of JKM was Yang Berhormat Ir Tuan Shahelmey Yahya, Sabah State Minister of Community Development and People Wellbeing, who said that AMWAY Malaysia’s contributions would help to mitigate the impacts of the health crisis in communities.
“We are deeply grateful for AMWAY Malaysia’s timely assistance to families who are badly affected by COVID-19 restrictions. We believe this donation will help lessen the burden of Sabahans impacted by the pandemic, enhance their daily nutrition requirements and make a real difference to their lives,” he said in his speech during the handover of the Food Baskets, held at the Kembara Prihatin launching ceremony organised by JKM Sabah at Wisma Muis, Kota Kinabalu.
Throughout the pandemic, AMWAY Malaysia has continuously provided support for the Ministry of Health (MOH) and JKM, bringing the total of cash and in-kind contributions to more than RM2.5 million. To date, AMWAY Malaysia has donated a total of 250 Atmosphere Air Purifier units, worth RM1.4 million to MOH and raised RM326,940 to support the purchase of 6,500 test kits for University of Malaya Medical Centre. Apart from public hospitals, AMWAY Malaysia had also donated 25 units of air purifiers to the National Cancer Council (MAKNA) and 71 units to shelters under JKM nationwide.
