Featuring Nadia Brian, Adi Putra and Sharifah Sakinah’s return to TV3 dramas since 2019
Expanding its catalogue of local dramas, innovative market-leading online entertainment service iQiyi will feature TV3’s Aku Yang Kau Gelar Isteri to its Malaysian, Singaporean and Bruneian subscribers. The semi-horror-romance drama that revolves around black-magic features a star-studded cast namely Nadia Brian, Sharifah Sakinah and Adi Putra.
The drama about a love triangle and unrequited love, tells a story of a young woman named Laila (Sharifah Sakinah) who falls in love with Ezlan (Adi Putra) but is devastated when he decides to marry Raihani (Nadia Brian). Heartbroken, she leaves their hometown only to return years later with a new determination to win Ezlan’s back. Laila’s pursuit is relentless, one that is rooted in destroying a happy home with the help of black magic. The story's theme of using black magic in the name of love is not merely fictional as it is widely known that it is used in our society.
Aside from Sharifah Sakinah, who has been away from the limelight since 2019, the drama also welcomes back Lana Nordin (who plays Embun) from her four-year acting hiatus along with Nadia Brian.
Aku Yang Kau Gelar Isteri, which began streaming on 17 February 2021 and runs until 15 March 2021, is one of the many titles that have been made available through a drama content partnership deal between Malaysia’s biggest content producer and distributor, Primeworks Studios and iQiyi. Last month, the streaming platform announced the addition of top-rated TV3 dramas such as Rahimah Tanpa Rahim and Melastik ke Hatimu to their library of content.
The titles are available on iQIYI’s streaming services the same day that it will air nationwide on the Media Prima-owned television channel, TV3. Once available, the episodes alongside subtitles in Bahasa Malaysia and English will be accessible for all to watch at any time for free on www.iQ.com or download the iQIYI app on App Store and Play Store or via http://bit.ly/iQIYI.
Since debuting in Malaysia last year, iQIYI has seen a steady performance, achieving over 15 times in user growth propelled by an overwhelming response since the platform began streaming local content. Aiming to be the destination for users who are looking for quality and topical entertainment and a seamless digital experience, users also have access to many latest and widely watched collections of Korean, Chinese, and anime titles.
