Producing an awesome smartphone at an affordable price is crucial for smartphone manufacturers. Although there is always demand for a high-end smartphone with a higher price, there is also greater demand for an affordable smartphone with awesome specifications. It is important now than before to make the smartphone more accessible to the public. On top of the interface and specification, pricing has always been the crucial breaking point when purchasing a smartphone.
Earlier in March 2021, to make Galaxy innovations more accessible to the public, Samsung has released Samsung Galaxy A52, and Galaxy A72 during the Galaxy Awesome Unpacked virtual launch. Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, said that the Galaxy A52 and A72 encapsulate the Galaxy brand philosophy with cutting-edge innovations, services, and features at an accessible price. Both phones are the new range in the Samsung Galaxy A Series, and we have been given the honor to do the unboxing of the Galaxy A52.
There are four color options for Galaxy A52: Awesome Violet, Awesome Black, Awesome White, and the one that we had on our today, Awesome Blue. Unlike its Galaxy S series that recently launched, Galaxy A52 came with a normal size box that we normally get when purchasing smartphones.
One of the most obvious differences we can feel when holding this device is the device's weight. Unlike the other smartphone that our team currently has, the Galaxy A52 turns out to feel lighter, yet it feels so compact and extremely comfortable in hand. To compare how light it is, Galaxy A52 weighs 189 grams, while Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra at 227 grams and iPhone 11 Pro Max at 226 grams.
On top of the device itself, the standard box contents include a SIM ejector pin, a 15W charger (supports fast charging), USB-A to USB-C, and not forgetting the quick start guide warranty card.
There is, however, no basic silicone case and also earphones bundled in the box. But if you purchase either Galaxy A52 or A72, or both now, you will get a free Clear Standing Cover worth RM109. As the earphone alternative, you may try out their Galaxy Buds Pro that is packed with massive features that we love so much and read our review here.
As for the build itself, Galaxy A52 is equipped with a 6.5 inch AMOLED screen layered with Gorilla Glass 5 for its front and plastic for its back. The AMOLED is offering FHD resolution along with a 90Hz refresh rate. On the right side of the device are the power button and the volume rocker. The SIM tray is located at the top of the device, for the bottom holds the USB-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, and the speaker.
The front camera is packed with a 32 MP selfie camera and 64 MP for the main camera with an Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) for a clear, crisp, and awesome photo throughout day and night. The main camera comes with a quad-camera setup and a flash. Another feature that we love the most about Galaxy A52 is that with such an affordable price tag, you will be able to shoot 4K videos at 30 fps, and on top of that, you will also get a super steady mode to make your videos look smoother and stable.
Samsung Galaxy A52 comes with an SM7125 Snapdragon 720G chipset and runs on Android 11 and One UI 3.1. Thanks to its Octa-core processor and up to 8 GB of RAM, you will be able to run multiple tasks on your device. As for the storage, Galaxy A52 comes with 256 GB internal storage; you can store more to 33,000 photos with an average file size of 6.6 MB. Not enough? Well, don't worry because you can always upgrade your storage up to 1 Terabyte (TB) with a microSD card.
For those who spend most of their time playing games or browsing social media, you are no longer need to worry about having not enough juice as Galaxy A52 is powered with a 4,500 mAH battery that will give you more time to do what you love on your device. Running out of battery? Spend less time charging it as you can utilize its Super Fast Charging feature using the power adapter that comes with the box.
We know you would love to learn more about the awesome features of the Galaxy A52, such as its performance and camera quality. In the next few days, we will be using the device and sharing our in-depth review of the device soon. Stay tuned!
