- Partnership to help accelerate immunisation efforts led by the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF)
- iQiyi’s 3,000+ titles of beloved Asian content made free for Malaysians who get vaccinated RM1.5 million worth of free iQiyi VIP subscription vouchers made available for redemption
iQiyi, the Asian entertainment streaming leader, joined forces with the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to strengthen immunisation efforts in support of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK)’s agenda of reaching herd immunity by end-2021.
Through the “iQiyi Bersama Rakyat Malaysia (iQiyi with Malaysians)” programme, iQiyi will work closely with CITF to disburse RM1.5 million worth of iQiyi VIP subscriptions to Malaysians nationwide who have been vaccinated. By making the 3,000+ titles of beloved Asian content on the iQiyi International platform free to vaccinated Malaysians, the Asian entertainment streaming leader is doing its part in supporting the country’s Covid Immunisation Taskforce (CITF) to drive both the registration and average attendance rate, through advocacy and reward-based initiatives across the nation.
Khairy Jamaluddin, Coordinating Minister of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP), said of the partnership, “A crucial aspect of containing the spread of COVID-19 is cooperation. Public-private partnerships send strong, clear messages that everyone plays a part in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and promoting vaccine awareness. I am looking forward to iQiyi and CITF working together to encourage more people to be vaccinated, while advocating the importance of staying home.”
He also reiterated that the CITF has significantly expanded immunisation efforts by ensuring access to more doses of vaccines which will allow for sufficient supply nationwide. The vaccine rollout will be further supported by the openings of several more mega PPVs that will have greater capacity, providing for the immunisation of up to thousands per day in the coming weeks, with plans to incorporate a drive-thru vaccine programme.
“We know how difficult the past year has been for Malaysians,” said Dinesh Ratnam, iQiyi's Country Manager for Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. “We are incredibly honoured to partner with CITF in extending free VIP subscriptions to our service to all Malaysians who have been vaccinated. We would love to keep everyone entertained with our beloved Asian content while they stay safe at home and hope it makes their time during the MCO 3.0 that much easier."
