Improved facilities under new ownership includes representation of A&W, Subway, and Jamaica Blue Coffee through newly-formed industry partnership

With the year-end school holidays just a couple of weeks away, plans for family getaways and recreation are undoubtedly in full swing. Leisure and recreational attractions are gearing up to enthral eager visitors with some much-deserved family entertainment and revelry.
One of them is KidZania Kuala Lumpur (“KidZania”), which has amassed strong affinity over the years from children and their parents for its unique edutainment offering, combining learning and entertainment in a 80,000-square-feet scaled replica of a real functioning city with over 40 role-playing activities for kids, where they can learn about jobs, money, and the real world while developing all-important life skills that simply cannot be taught in the classroom. This interactive form of learning, which creatively blends reality and entertainment has over the years proved to be a hit throughout the world.
Last year, world-renowned Sim Leisure Group acquired the license to operate the KidZania franchise in Malaysia and has since then worked on significantly improving the attraction’s facilities. Under the new ownership and management, one of the major enhancements undertaken was fully digitalising the facility’s ticketing system for greater efficiency and control, as well as beefing up customer service in order to serve visitors better and stay relevant to an increasingly astute base of customers.
In its latest development of its offering and facilities, KidZania has forged a partnership with Inter Mark Resources Sdn. Bhd., which will see the inclusion of three industry partners to further enhance visitors’ experience – A&W, Subway, and Jamaica Blue Coffee.
The partnership was officiated in a formal ceremony at KidZania, which was attended by Sim Choo Kheng, Founder and CEO of Sim Leisure Group, and George Ang, Founder and Group CEO of Inter Mark Resources Sdn. Bhd. During the ceremony, Sim presented Ang with the “Key To The City”, a symbolic gesture of welcoming the three new brands to KidZania.

“It gives me great pleasure to formally introduce and welcome A&W, Subway and Jamaica Blue Coffee to KidZania, which will certainly enhance the many offerings to all our visitors – both children and their parents alike. These are well-known brands, which Malaysians have fondly grown to love in so many ways. I am confident that their representation at KidZania will take this unique establishment to greater heights. In this regard, I would like to personally thank George and the team from Inter Mark Resources for their unwavering support and facilitation in making this partnership a reality,” said Sim.
He also highlighted that KidZania is finalising similar industry partnerships with other major brands and organisations, which will be announced in due course.
With the addition of A&W and Subway, children will be able to gain hands-on experience in operating and managing a fast-food outlet. Meanwhile, their parents can enjoy their favourite cuppa and refreshments at the Jamaica Blue Coffee outlet located at the Parents’ Lounge, where they can sit back and relax while their children frolic, play, and learn through the numerous activities and engagements at KidZania.
“Our decision to be part of KidZania was not a difficult one to make. We realise the huge benefit KidZania offers to children to discover and learn while having tons fun in the process. We believe that the inclusion of A&W, Subway, and Jamaica Blue Coffee at KidZania will add significant value to visitors’ experience. Just imagine the fun kids will have by creating their own Coney and pouring their own glass of root beer at A&W; or constructing their own Subway sandwich, before savouring the delicious works of their hands! All this while their parents enjoy their own R&R at the Parents’ Lounge with the very best coffee and snacks using fresh and premium ingredients at Jamaica Blue Coffee,” said Ang.
