A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed at AirAsia RedQ by Riad Asmat, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia and Dato’ Marcus Kam, Group President and CEO of CMC Medijaya and PATHLAB.
CMC through Medijaya’s new dedicated testing centre at Gateway will provide a streamlined and hassle-free testing procedure that integrates with airline protocols including taking advance bookings, prioritising online payments and delivering efficient results for AirAsia guests. AirAsia will support Medijaya to promote awareness of the new facilities for a more seamless experience for guests departing and arriving at Gateway.
Riad Asmat said: “Over the past two years we have been implementing numerous new innovations and procedures that make flying more seamless and hygienic and to help restore consumer confidence in flying. The announcement is another example of how we are working with strategic partners to take the hassle out of air travel in the post pandemic world.
“Through this collaboration, guests with AirAsia can expect a seamless “test and go” procedure for the Rapid Antigen Test (RTK) requirement on arrival at Gateway, at affordable prices with efficient service and a commitment to results delivered in a timely manner. While Gateway is the first airport we will launch this seamless service for our guests, we aim to review other destinations across Malaysia and Asean in the near future as our airlines continue to return to the skies in all of our core markets.”
Medijaya’s RTK test service at Gateway will be priced at RM60 exclusively for AirAsia guests starting 17 April 2022, and is available for advance booking through the Medijaya website. AirAsia guests may also present their boarding passes at Medijaya health facility at Gateway to enjoy these exclusive benefits. The swab process will take less than 5 minutes, and the results will be uploaded to MySejahtera within 30 minutes after the swab. Guests will also receive a softcopy of the test results through email within 24 hours.
For departing guests, the RT-PCR pre-departure test will be available at RM120 for AirAsia guests. AirAsia guests may walk-in to any Medijaya testing facility in Malaysia starting 14 April 2022. Alternatively, AirAsia guests may make advance purchases at the Medijaya health facility at Gateway, and redeem at any Medijaya testing facilities in Malaysia. The testing facilities are currently available at Medijaya Kelana Jaya, Medijaya Bayu Tinggi (Klang), Medijaya Pandan Indah (KL), and Medijaya Johor Bahru. Upcoming testing facilities will soon be available at Kota Kinabalu and Melaka. Similarly, the PCR test results will also be ready within 24 hours after the swab is collected, and guests will receive a softcopy of the test result through email.
Dato Marcus Kam said: “CMC Medijaya together with PATHLAB are very much honoured and we look forward to being a key strategic partner to AirAsia, especially in helping to revive the travel industry and the Malaysian economy. We shall ensure the best seamless service for “test and go”, with fast reporting of results as well. Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, our Group has been fully supportive of the Government’s efforts to combat the pandemic, and we are now all ready to again provide our unrelenting efforts to revive the country's economy and to return to normalcy.”
