Taking photos nowadays is as easy as whipping out your smartphone from your pocket and snapping away. Imagine looking up at the sky and a beautiful bright full moon is there and wanting to capture it, but your photos somehow turn out looking like a small white dot against a grainy background on your phone. I’m sure we’ve all been there, even professional photographers like Joshua Se and Nadirah Zakariya deal with these (#firstworldproblem) when shooting without proper equipment.
With the camera technology we have today, taking good pictures in the dark is no longer an issue - just ask Joshua and Nadirah, who both put their creativity to the test with their new Galaxy S22 Series and garnered tips to share with new aspiring content makers!
With the camera technology we have today, taking good pictures in the dark is no longer an issue - just ask Joshua and Nadirah, who both put their creativity to the test with their new Galaxy S22 Series and garnered tips to share with new aspiring content makers!
Let’s hear it straight from the pros on how they use the Galaxy S22, along with all the tips for you to be the best creators you possibly can!
Be Passionate About Your Subject
“Photography is a huge form of self-expression for me, and if it can move at least one person or if someone else can resonate with my work, then I am already over the moon about that,” said Nadirah when it comes to what fuels her passion for photography. Joshua’s favourite subject are people, more specifically capturing the essence of all that is human while highlighting a person’s natural beauty is what gives his hobby purpose. Because of this, Joshua specifically enjoyed using Portrait Mode on the Galaxy S22 Series for its seamless ability to capture the best of his subjects in vivid detail.
It really doesn’t matter whether you are shooting during the day or night, the two said, as long as you find a subject – be it a person, object, or scenery – that moves you passionately for it to be the language of your emotions. They later reiterated that photography and videography are both powerful ways to tell a story and if the creator is truly aligned with their subject, they will be able to capture that special magic that speaks directly to the hearts of viewers.
Get To Know Your Tools
Another important tip when it comes to content creation is to explore the features that your camera comes with. Because let’s be honest, it’s nice to point and click but if we don’t explore around then chances are we’ll stay blind to all the useful features we have available to us, and this applies specially to understanding the full potential of your camera. All the features on your camera tells you its strength and quirks, so part and parcel of being a good creator is understanding how these tools can take your content to the next level. So, experiment as much as you need and find out what works for you!
For Nadirah and Joshua, an easy tip to dealing with the grainy night sky is of course; having ample lighting around but that wouldn’t be necessary with Nightography on the Galaxy S22 Series. This entire feature was built around creating smoother and clearer night-time footage without the unwanted distortion. So, say goodbye to extreme contrast when it comes to night scenery because this feature allows you to work around those limitations so you can capture alluring images and videos of the night.
Make Use of The Other Features on Your Phone
When it comes to content creation, the first and only thing most people think of is the camera quality but according to Joshua, there’s plenty more on a smartphone that exists to streamline projects. “With the included S Pen on the S22 Ultra, catching inspiration couldn't be any easier,” Joshua said before expanding that he uses the S Pen on his Galaxy S22 Ultra to note ideas and build a concept for his shoots. He considered it extremely useful for pre-production research – being able to drag and drop pictures directly from the browser quickly making this his favourite way to work.
Nadirah, on the other hand, felt strongly about the long-lasting battery[1] on the Galaxy S22+ because it didn’t only allow her to shoot all day but consistently lasted long enough to wrap up with editing as well. As a busy person with a schedule that often keeps her out from early morning to late at night, the long-lasting battery coupled with the phone’s photo capabilities make her feel like she’s found the perfect digital companion to be lugging around all day.
Share It with The World!
Finally, what is a great work of art if you don’t share it with your audience? Sharing your work with the audience may seem daunting at first, but once you overcome that fear, you’re in for a whole new journey of epic content creation! “Editing my pictures directly on the Galaxy S22+ saves me the time to get them ready for instant sharing on the go,” Nadhirah smiled. She added that the device comes with great performance and power to help her edit her photos wherever and whenever.
For Joshua, speed is key. “It goes without saying that instant sharing is now the norm. People are quick to share their photos and videos instantly on various platforms,” he commented. To ensure that he’ll get to upload his work online in time, he relies on his trusty Galaxy S22 Ultra to render his videos immediately and share them online with his viewers.
You’ve locked down your muse, finally understood your tools, and other fancy features that come with it, and now, it’s time to get out there and showcase your masterpiece! Make your own rules, push the limits and prepare to produce the best content with what you have in hand to start your creative pursuits. With all these tips in mind, are you ready to start your content creating journey #withGalaxy?
