QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands), Malaysia’s first and only fully integrated food operator that operates KFC, Pizza Hut, Ayamas & Life have distributed cash to 100 Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) asnaf students in conjunction with the UPM Students Aidilfitri Contribution Presentation Ceremony held on 27 April 2022 (Wednesday) 25 Ramadan 1443H at Philip Kotler Hall, UPM School of Business and Economics (SPE).
During the ceremony, a cheque of the QSR-SPE Assistance Distribution worth RM150,000.00 was handed over by Mr. Mohd. Khairul Izzad Bin Mohammed Shamsuddin, Group Chief Financial Officer, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd to Associate Professor Dr. Bany Ariffin Amin Noordin, the Dean of the School of Business and Economics, UPM; witnessed by YB Senator Datuk Haji Idris Haji Ahmad, Minister at the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) and the Honourable Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, Vice Chancellor of UPM.
Moreover, QSR Brands had also donated KFC meal sets as one of the iftar spreads at the event.
The UPM Students' Aidilfitri Contribution Presentation Ceremony themed “Mensyukuri Ramadan, Meraikan Aidilfitri” is a part of the ongoing collaboration between SPE and QSR Brands in the aid distribution mission programme and transfer to the community, especially the asnaf families as well as students impacted by poverty.
In light of the blessed month of Ramadan, the ceremony was held to celebrate the asnaf students of UPM and put a smile on their faces, bringing joy to their celebration of Aidilfitri in 2022.
The effort put forth by QSR brands thusly is in line with the government's distinct focus in improving the overall social wellbeing, as well as looking after the welfare of students who require it, such as the underprivileged asnaf.
