The same affordable Asian favourite, but with an added wow factor and innovative packaging
airasia’s Santan, the world's first restaurant brand by an airline to offer inflight food on ground and home to ‘the best nasi lemak in town’, today unveiled its new on-the-go packaging dubbed the ‘Nasi Lemak On-The-Go’ for its signature dish for a steal from just RM4.90.
Designed specially with busy foodies in mind, the pyramid-shaped Nasi Lemak On-The-Go comes with the same great taste and with a unique new packaging that allows for patrons to have their meals anytime, anywhere with ease and convenience. Simply grab one on-the-go and have a piping hot meal without the hassle of dining in.

Kuala Lumpur today. |
Airasia’s Santan’s Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak is famed throughout ASEAN ‒ particularly on-board AirAsia flights. This classic dish revered all over Malaysia is made with fragrant coconut-steamed rice, mildly spicy sambal, crunchy anchovies and peanuts and topped with a perfectly boiled egg. Airasia’s Santan offers different variations of the Nasi Lemak, where patrons have the option of pairing their meal with a protein of their choice. In addition to the local delight, Santan recently expanded its offerings to include the popular Indonesian dish Nasi Padang and Santan’s very own burgers with a local twist. All these come in a more affordable price point starting from just RM9.90 for an a-la carte menu in line with its mission to provide ‘the best nasi lemak in town’ that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
Catherine Goh, General Manager of airasia’s Santan said: “The world has changed since the pandemic but one thing that never changes is our commitment under the AirAsia brand to always deliver the best value and service at the lowest cost. The airasia’s Santan team continuously strives to innovate, evolve and improve our offerings to our patrons.
“Our Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak is not only the most popular meal in our Santan range, but also easily the most-sold Nasi Lemak in Malaysia, both in-flight and on the ground. On average, our stores sell about 1,000 Nasi Lemak in a day, and we project this to increase four-fold to 4,000 Nasi Lemak daily per store by 2026. With a new and improved version of our fan-favourite ‘Ayam Goreng Berempah’ or Spiced Chicken that bodes so well with our Nasi Lemak, we look forward to heightening our competitive edge and strengthening our position in the market as a quick-service-restaurant for the Best Nasi Lemak In Town.”
In conjunction with the launch of the ‘Nasi Lemak On-The-Go’ there will be up to 12,000 airasia’s Santan meals up for grabs thanks to airasia food. There will also be up to a million airasia points to be given out by airasia rewards ‒ airasia members will automatically earn double points (12 airasia points for every RM1 spend) for any spend at airasia’s Santan during 27 July to 31 October 2022 via the Snap & Earn feature on the airasia Super App. (Terms & conditions apply)
airasia’s Santan first opened its flagship store in 2019 and has since branched out to 11 outlets across the Klang Valley. airasia’s Santan Restaurants can be found at AEON Shah Alam, IOI Mall Puchong, KL East Mall, Kompleks PKNS, NU Sentral, RedQ (AirAsia’s headquarters), Setia City Mall and Sunway Pyramid, whereas airasia’s Santan Cafes are located at The Gardens, RedQ and RedStation (airasia Super App headquarters) in KL Sentral.
