- UNSW Global encourages international students to discover new education opportunities as the world reopens
- After just 120-days the 100% online program gives students the chance to study at UNSW Sydney or another leading international university in Australia, New Zealand or UK
- Successful completion of UNSW Global’s Transition Program Online (TPO) opens new pathways for students who previously couldn’t apply for a bachelor’s degree and secure a globally-recognised tertiary education
For students leaving secondary school and beginning the transition to university, the TPO provides the opportunity to join a global community and study a bachelor’s degree in Australia, New Zealand or the UK in just 120 days.
Striving to increase access for international students to gain a leading university education, UNSW Global’s purpose-built online program, delivered by OpenLearning, prepares students to commence a bachelor’s degree at one of the program’s partner universities around the world.
Launched in early 2021, the 120-day program is delivered completely online, accommodating time zones and supported by dedicated Study Coaches and Teachers. Combining curriculum from UNSW, a world top 50 university, with OpenLearning’s innovative social learning platform, international students can now pursue global education and career opportunities. The program offers course streams including Commerce, Actuarial Studies, Life Science, Physical Science, and Design and Architecture.
“As international borders reopen, school leavers around the world can once again consider travel, bringing with it the opportunity to explore global opportunities to study, work and live,” comments Sarah Lightfoot, Chief Executive Officer or UNSW Global.
“The UNSW Global online program exists to provide more international learning opportunities to more students. Our online learning solution now opens doors for students who may have thought studying overseas was out of reach.”
In just 120-days, students who successfully complete the program through UNSW Global will have the opportunity to apply for a bachelor’s degree at leading universities around the world. The growing list of partner universities include:
Australia
- UNSW Sydney
- Western Sydney University
- New Zealand
- Auckland University
- Victoria University of Wellington
United Kingdom
- Aberystwyth University
- Arts University Bournemouth
- Brunel University
- TEDI London
- University of Portsmouth
With life-changing learning at the heart of the program, students enrolled from anywhere in the world will be supported and empowered to develop the practical skills and confidence needed to succeed at a partnering university through participation in specially developed courses.
The OpenLearning learning platform encourages students to connect with their learning journey and their peers, guiding them to develop the skills in independent learning and groupwork required for them to succeed at university. Throughout the program, students are supported by dedicated coaches to support them on their learning journey to ensure they are confident and prepared for the transition from high school to university.
“We believe students around the world should have the opportunity to access tertiary education at a leading university, and UNSW Transition Program Online makes this possible,” said OpenLearning CEO Adam Brimo.
“Combining active learning, regular feedback and coaching with a globally recognised curriculum developed by UNSW, the program reimagines online learning. Our students constantly tell us they are amazed by the doors that are opened by our program, but they also say they never thought online learning could be this engaging.”
Purpose-built as an interactive online learning program, Transition Program Online has been designed to facilitate connection between students. The set-up of the program allows students to connect with their peers to work on group projects, as well as to talk socially and share ideas to allow for life-long friendships to be formed. Students who have completed the program say being able to make friends while studying online has enriched their learning experience.
Key benefits offered by UNSW Global’s Transition Program online include :
- Extra support and coaching systems
- Cost-effective and good value
- Time zone appropriate and accessible
- Ability to share coursework with parent
