Leading IT and network technologies company, NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn Bhd (NEC Malaysia) formed a collaborative partnership with MyDIGITAL Corporation towards enabling the development of Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and preparing professional digital talent for various industries.
The partnership agreement was signed by Mr. Chong Kai Wooi, Managing Director of NEC Malaysia, and Mr. Fabian Bigar, Chief Executive Officer of MyDIGITAL Corporation. A ceremony that took place at Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur was witnessed by YB Dato’ Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy), and Mr. Akihiko Kumagai, President of Global Business, NEC Corporation.
The partnership agreement was signed by Mr. Chong Kai Wooi, Managing Director of NEC Malaysia, and Mr. Fabian Bigar, Chief Executive Officer of MyDIGITAL Corporation. A ceremony that took place at Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur was witnessed by YB Dato’ Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy), and Mr. Akihiko Kumagai, President of Global Business, NEC Corporation.
NEC Malaysia will collaborate with MyDIGITAL Corporation to drive the implementation of various initiatives in the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MDEB). The company will also support as a thought leadership consultant in the MyDIGITAL Catalytic Projects, a proactive initiative by the government that provides digital infrastructure consultancy and solutions to companies across various sectors, such as manufacturing, agriculture, transportation and logistics, healthcare services and utilities.
The MyDIGITAL Catalytic Projects initiative offers eligible companies counsel on adoption of technology such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things (IoT), blockchain, cloud computing and big data analytics, and advanced material and technologies.
“As Malaysia advances in its goal to digitalise its economy, we must ensure that no sector and no one is left behind. Our partnership with MyDIGITAL Corporation enables us to support companies across sectors with digital knowledge and expertise in building resilience and competitiveness for our nation. We will also provide Malaysians with access to reskilling and training programmes so that they have the digital skills required in today’s workforce. We are committed in supporting Malaysia towards the goal of becoming a digital nation that ensures inclusivity and sustainable growth,” said Mr. Chong Kai Wooi, Managing Director of NEC Malaysia.

The collaboration will also see NEC Malaysia and MyDIGITAL’s efforts in reskilling workers with relevant digital skills through workshops while providing training and internship programmes focused on digital skills for tertiary and vocational students.
“Our partnership with NEC Malaysia is part of our strategy to collaborate with private sector partners to transform Malaysia into a digitally-enabled and technology-driven high-income nation. We believe that this collaboration will prepare businesses in the adoption of technologies, which will allow us to accelerate the growth of the nation’s digital economy,” said Mr. Fabian Bigar, Chief Executive Officer of MyDIGITAL Corporation.
