Minister of Transport YB Anthony Loke said: “This is the second time this year I’m officiating AirAsia’s special ‘fixed fares’ for the festive season, and I’m deeply pleased that AirAsia is staying true to its commitment to support the government’s initiative to lower fares during these peak travel periods. We’ve come together as a nation to overcome the tough past few years and it’s commendable of AirAsia to ensure that inexpensive travel is an available option for many. These fixed fares will enable thousands of people to ‘balik kampung’ and reunite with their nearest and dearest in an affordable manner. I implore other industry players to follow suit and bring down the cost of travel ‒ particularly during the festive periods for more folks to enjoy making precious memories with their friends and families.”
Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group Limited, Bo Lingam said: “Festive seasons are a time when the travel industry usually sees a hike in prices, but for AirAsia, we are committed to connecting our guests with their loved ones at an affordable price. Enabling everyone, especially Malaysians to travel has and will always be our mission and vision since 2001.
“We’re now at 164 aircraft as a group and our fleet number will be back to the full 229 in coming months - where we’ll be able to fly even more people at our award-winning low fares. Getting back to what we were pre pandemic wasn't an easy feat but we are never one to shy away from challenges. In the last 21 years, we’ve flown close to 800 million guests at unbeatable prices and have offered countless fixed fare campaigns during festive periods ‒ and we’re only just getting started again.
“None of this would have been possible without our amazing team of Allstars who’ve dedicated their careers to providing our guests with world-class service. My sincerest gratitude goes out to the Ministry for supporting AirAsia in our efforts to enable everyone to fly home this Raya. We wish all those celebrating a very happy Hari Raya and hope you all enjoy this special time with your families, and make sure to tuck into some delicious rendang!”
Guests travelling during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri period are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours ahead of their scheduled departure time (for domestic travel) to avoid congestion.
