The team pitched ideas to optimise the app of a popular fast food franchise on the Galaxy Z Flip. The first idea is to enable customers to get order status updates right from the Cover Screen. The second idea is enabling multi-view on the Main Screen, where customers can view two app features at the same time – for example, they can continue to view the menu on the top of the screen, while checking items in their cart, customising their orders, or even making top-ups at the bottom of the screen. |
Second Prize Winner Team: Yellow Banana Participants:

The team pitched ideas to optimise a local coffee chain’s app, leveraging the larger screens on the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold. This included showcasing customers' personalised preferences, such as their top 3 favourite drinks and transaction history. Secondly, to enable online orders and payment while showcasing prices and nutritional info. Thirdly, the optimised app will display a map for easy location of outlets. Additionally, they pitched leveraging Flex Mode to provide educational content, such as videos playing on the top screen with accompanying content and descriptions at the bottom. |

The team pitched ideas to optimise the app of a popular fast food franchise. On the Galaxy Z Fold, the pitch is to enable easier access to the menu and multi-window view for clearer and more intuitive interface on the Galaxy Z Fold. The participant pitched ideas to optimise the app of a food delivery service. Leveraging Multi View on the Galaxy Z Fold4, customers will be able to see the menu on the left while reviewing cart items on the right, be able to add coupons on the page itself, and the cart page can be expanded to full screen for easy editing. The participant also pitched ideas to utilise Flex Mode on the Galaxy Z Flip4, where they will be able to see their order summary on top, while chatting with customer support on the screen at the bottom. |
Third Prize Winner Team: Fold Fusion Participants:

The Developer Day hackathon enabled students to leverage Samsung and Android platform’s capabilities to flex tech creativity and bring real-life benefits to users. It was organised in collaboration with Taylor’s University and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR).
The hackathon was also part of the many activities during Samsung’s Galaxy Space, a Gen Z-inspired experiential event that is open to the public from 9-18 June.
This comes on the back of Samsung’s recent event, ‘Reimagining Foldables for Malaysians’, where the company collaborated with top local organisations to showcase the optimisation of local apps that Malaysians use on a daily basis, in bringing it closer to their hearts.
