Where meetings are fun, and spaces are flexible for brainstorming sessions that are out of the ordinary
In line with its playful and vibrant spirit, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu aligns itself with today’s MICE planners’ needs with a new meeting experience, where the benchmark on everything you know about meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) is being redesigned, re-shifted and realigned.
It offers a fun and innovative way of working across 293 square metres of flexible meeting space, carved across six meeting rooms, one boardroom and a pre-function area on its third floor. Each meeting room averages 43 square metres of space, perfect to cater for all forms of board meetings, private and intimate gatherings, social celebrations such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversaries, event launches and more.
It opens its meeting rooms and facilities for gatherings with a difference, powered by superior audio-visual support and technology and offered amidst a creative ambience coming alive with local culture and elements. State-of-the-art facilities meet sustainable features, local-centric designs, gastronomic food and beverage offerings and, most importantly, creativity and fun for brainstorming sessions that are out of the box.
Efficient, seamless, sustainable technology
Smooth-sailing meetings are ensured with the highest quality audio visual technology in all rooms. Present in full high definition with HD LED screens and pitch with confidence with full laser projectors, each operated by a motorised system. Control is put entirely at your fingertips with iPads that regulate projectors, microphones and background music as well as room lighting, air-conditioning temperature and curtains.
Set the perfect ambience with five different lighting modes to make the most of both in-person and hybrid meetings. Both easily made possible by state-of-the-art video conferencing tools and live streaming facilities. Completing the equation of sustainable meeting spaces are double-glazed floor-to-ceiling windows that let in ample natural sunlight to reduce the use of electricity.
Flexible design, creative spaces
Spaces are flexible to meet all your meeting planning needs, offered as a complete blank space to be set up and adapted to your vision. Existing interior dĆ©cor doubles as cultural insights to Sabah’s rich heritage and culture, brought to life by designer Kengo Kuma’s ‘Walking in the Woods’ theme. The hotel has seen its conference hall host a wedding on one weekend before it is transformed into an e-sports arena the next day. Different locations serve as a different backdrop to various event needs, like ON23 for romantic proposals, Level 3 event space for brand and product launches, ON22 for a myriad of trainings and the pool for water related activities.
In the meeting rooms, creative juices are kept flowing with the support of an events and marketing team that plans interesting coffee breaks and meeting setups, utilising breakout rooms for breathers, pre-function spaces with action stations and fridges for food and a small pantry area for fresh coffee from the coffee machine too.
Local and international F&B offerings
Fuel the body and mind in between meetings with coffee breaks that excite and inspire. Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu’s talented and creative F&B team seeks to incorporate local ingredients into the menus wherever possible. There are also options for creative, themed coffee breaks curated for a personalised touch that ties back to Sabah, like the Gaya Street Set that brings flavours of a local breakfast right into the meeting rooms and Foh Sang Market Set that harkens a busy lunchtime at a local hotspot. Presented in equally enticing packaging using graffiti boxes or dry ice, they make coffee breaks not more than just a break, but a reinvigoration of the senses.
The new local-inspired benchmark for meetings
Beyond corporate meetings and romantic weddings, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu goes the extra mile whenever possible to support local communities with events catered to their unique needs. This includes activations like Get Inked on 23, a collaboration with Black Ink Industry crew to celebrate the local tattoo community. The hotel converted ¼ of the space on ON23 into a pop-up tattoo studio overlooking the South China Sea. Level 3 has also hosted E-Sports at HCKK, a collaboration with Sri Pelancongan Sabah and Never Settle e-Sport Club to provide the e-sport community an arena for Mobile Legend and PUBG gaming competitions. Thanks to previous collaborative efforts like Street Strokes @ Ewan Lane that saw local and international graffiti artists come together, the hotel is also the beneficiary of a mobile graffiti wall that today remains constantly employed at various function spaces throughout the hotel for an edgy touch.
The next time you’re looking for a meeting space with a difference, look no further than Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, where out of the box solutions present out of the ordinary corporate meetings, all with a fun and personalised touch and a thought spared for the environment.
