Leap into spring and usher in the Year of the Dragon with exhilarating celebrations at IOI City Mall, IOI Mall Puchong and IOI Mall Kulai
This Chinese New Year, IOI Malls invite everyone to welcome the spirit of spring with its “Leap of Spring” themed celebrations at IOI City Mall, IOI Mall Puchong, and IOI Mall Kulai. Usher in the Year of the Dragon with an array of engaging activities, performances, giveaways, and distinctive experiences that will leave visitors buzzing with excitement happening from now to 25 February 2024!

We have meticulously curated a variety of activities and initiatives that will add a vibrant touch to the festive season. Visitors can enjoy an atmosphere where traditional and modern elements come together in harmony, creating a unique fusion of cultural and contemporary experiences.”

IOI City Mall & IOI Mall Puchong
At IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong, be spellbound by the Springful Performances lineup, a series of shows and presentations that authentically embody the essence of Chinese New Year. Immerse yourself in the rhythmic beats of thunderous Chinese drums through the mesmerising “8 Majestic Drums” performance, and witness the artistry and discipline of martial arts through Shaolin Wushu demonstrations. The orchestral showcase of traditional Chinese music is sure to enchant everyone, while the cast of the latest “Happy Dragons” movie will make an appearance at an exclusive meet and greet session. Marvel at the agility and grace displayed by acrobats and acrobatic lion dances as they perform breathtaking feats, a staple for Chinese New Year celebrations. All these and more await visitors, each one a standout spectacle in its own right.
Meanwhile, the Lunar Blossoms Workshop at both malls offer a creative haven for children. Exclusively open to members of IOI Kids Club, these workshops provide young ones with the opportunity to unleash their creativity through engaging arts and crafts projects. Activities include crafting dough dolls, plushies, dragon lanterns and ornaments, dragon and lion heads, and aroma sachets. Other activities include fan painting, shadow art painting, and mask painting. Kids who are not currently members of IOI Kids Club can seize the opportunity to join in the excitement by signing up and becoming members.
Shoppers at IOI City Mall can take their excitement to the next level when they spend RM100 in a single receipt, which will entitle them to unlock the "Gashapon Wonders'' experience. This exclusive opportunity gives them a chance to win exciting prizes from Cutiecle+, Gajeto, HYPE, Jac's Optometry, LI-NING, Natural Looks, Serta, Sometime by Asian Designers, The Green Party, and TOMEI.
As a special highlight, IOI City Mall is set to host an exclusive Chap Goh Mei concert on 24 February. Prepare to be captivated by performances from some of Malaysia’s hottest artists, including Namewee, Jestinna Kuan and Perry Kuan, Jaclyn Victor, Firdhaus, Vanessa Reynauld, The Shang Sisters, and HANDS Percussion. Residents in the vicinity can anticipate a diverse range of entertainment, featuring captivating shows and performances. From dragon dances and traditional lion dances to intriguing face changing displays, thunder drum showcases, magic shows, and the delightful presence of the God of Fortune during walkabouts, a plethora of entertainment awaits!
At IOI Mall Kulai, the festive spirit also extends to children through the inclusion of IOI Kids Club workshops. These workshops provide an opportunity for them to delve into the world of arts and crafts, creating their own DIY New Year pendants, spring firecracker ornaments, dragon boats, and hand-painted fans. Those with an artistic hand can look forward to participating in several competitions including a calligraphy competition at 10am on 17 February and a creative tangerine dƩcor competition at 1pm on 24 February. These competitions are open to both kids and adults.
There will also be rewards galore for shoppers! For starters, visitors who spend RM188 in two accumulated receipts (including one from Watsons) at IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong will receive a Watsons’ branded lucky bag.
Club IOI Members and Standard Chartered credit cardholders can also enjoy extra benefits, allowing them to redeem "Bountiful Blessings" with lower spending thresholds compared to non-cardholders, making them eligible for charming gifts. Extending the Festive Cheer to the Community
IOI City Mall recently hosted 67 residents from Pusat Jagaan Rumah Love and Care Kajang, and Persatuan Rumah Caring Kajang, marking the beginning of the festive season. The day featured a lively tour at IOI City Farm, an exclusive movie screening at GSC, and a Leap of Spring Reunion Dinner at the IOI Grand Hall. Residents enjoyed red packets and gifts from the IOI team, an acrobatic lion dance, Yee Sang toss, a delightful dinner, and a magical finale with Oriental melodies and a captivating magic show.
In a similar spirit, IOI Mall Kulai will continue the celebration by hosting members of Pusat Kebajikan Kalvari Johor on 2 February as part of its CSR initiative. The day will include a shopping spree for shoes and clothes, a traditional Yee Sang toss, followed by a tea party, and a variety of performances and entertainment for the guests.
