Four new international routes including Phu Quoc - Taichung/Kaohsiung and Hanoi - Melbourne/Sydney to be opened in June
Vietjet is ramping up its domestic routes by 35% and increasing night flights by 46% to meet the upcoming summer travel surge. Next month, the airline will also launch four new non-stop routes, connecting Vietnam’s beloved tourist hub, Phu Quoc Island to Taichung and Kaohsiung, and from Hanoi to Melbourne and Sydney.
In response to the increased demand, Vietjet is offering an additional 1.4 million domestic tickets across destinations in Vietnam, reflecting a 35% increase in supply. The airline has enhanced flight frequencies on existing routes to and from key travel hubs such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Nha Trang, while also inaugurating new routes between provincial Vietnamese cities.
Furthermore, Vietjet has expanded its night flight services by 46%, now totaling 3,100 overnight services. These flights connect from hubs like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang to provinces including Hai Phong, Vinh, and Thanh Hoa, all accompanied by attractive low-fare offers.
To meet the travel demand of international tourists this summer, Vietjet is introducing nonstop flights from Taichung and Kaohsiung to Vietnam’s Phu Quoc. This strategic move positions Vietjet as the sole airline offering direct regular air services from Phu Quoc Island to Taiwan’s Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung. Additionally, the airline is enhancing connectivity by offering convenient flights linking Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Phu Quoc in Vietnam with major cities in Taiwan, including Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. This extension brings Vietjet's Vietnam – Taiwan flight network to nine direct services.
The Phu Quoc - Taichung route will commence operations on June 13, 2024, offering thrice-weekly service on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This direct service ensures a swift travel time of just three hours and 30 minutes. Subsequently, on June 14, 2024, the Kaohsiung - Phu Quoc route will commence, operating four return flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with a flight duration of just three hours and 15 minutes.
Demonstrating its commitment to expanding its flight network, Vietjet is enabling Malaysian travelers to seamlessly journey between Vietnam and Taiwan, and experience two highly sought after destinations. Malaysian travelers visiting Vietnam via Ho Chi Minh City can benefit from the visa exemption scheme, which permits stays of up to 30 days. In recent years, the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc has skyrocketed as a tourism hotspot, experiencing a remarkable 200% year-over-year growth rate in international arrivals during the first quarter of 2024.
Vietjet also further strengthens Vietnam – Australia connectivity by introducing twice-weekly service from Hanoi to Melbourne, along with the Hanoi – Sydney route, commencing in the first week of June. These direct air links promise substantial reductions in travel times compared to connecting itineraries, all while offering more cost-effective travel choices.
Tickets for these routes are now accessible through all official Vietjet booking channels. Notably, passengers can seize the opportunity to enjoy promotional fares starting from RM120 (exclusive of tax and fee) every Friday, valid for flights until December 31, 2024 (excluding holidays and peak seasons). Booking is available via www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Air mobile app
This summer, Vietjet is also running a "Fly daily, win daily with Vietjet" program (*) worth up to VND6 billion (RM 1,103,795) in prizes for SkyJoy loyalty members booking by August 7, 2024.
