Ninja Van Malaysia, a tech-enabled express logistics company providing hassle-free delivery solutions across Southeast Asia, and Global Peace Foundation Malaysia (Global Peace) are taking their three-year partnership to the next level with a new initiative designed to uplift further the lives of the Orang Asli (OA) community in Kampung Sualang, Rompin, Pahang. The initiative, which is structured into three key phases, will look into sustainable farming techniques which are less costly and more beneficial to the environment in the long run. The first phase focuses on land preparation and installation of renewable energy solutions such as solar-powered irrigation and fencing. Meanwhile, the second phase will focus on planting and maintenance of farm plots using natural techniques like mulching and pruning, while the last phase will look at community livelihood empowerment through produce harvesting, processing, packaging and transporting of their homemade chips.
Due to economic marginalisation and limited access to better opportunities, the villagers in Kampung Sualang struggle to secure a sustainable livelihood. In response, Ninja Van Malaysia and Global Peace have reaffirmed their partnership, united in their mission to empower the Orang Asli community. This initiative, focused on sustainable development and community enhancement, seeks to advance local agriculture, integrate renewable energy solutions, and foster economic stability, marking a significant step toward enduring positive change. With the active participation of over 20 departments from Ninja Van Malaysia, this initiative is aimed at reaching approximately 80 villagers and highlights a shared commitment to delivering impactful and sustainable development.
“Our partnership with Global Peace underscores our commitment to making a meaningful social impact. Our logistics capabilities have enabled us to serve even the most remote areas effectively. Since the start of our collaboration in 2022, we have completed 19 deliveries spanning over 5,000 kilometers, demonstrating our ability to deliver real value. We are excited to continue this journey and explore further opportunities to support the OA community,” said Fairul Hidayah Jaffar, Head of Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, and Environment at Ninja Van Malaysia.
Dr. Teh Su Thye, CEO of Global Peace, added, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Ninja Van Malaysia as we continue our work to empower more OA communities. This next phase of our collaboration, focusing on fostering food security and livelihood stability, promises to make a lasting positive impact. The ongoing support from our partners is crucial for extending our reach and improving the lives of more villagers. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together and making a significant difference in the community.”
Over the past few years, Ninja Van Malaysia and Global Peace have worked together to bring about meaningful impact to the OA community in Pahang.
Fairul Hidayah Jaffar further added, "This partnership exemplifies how businesses and nonprofits can unite to create lasting impact in our local communities. By leveraging our combined strengths, we hope to build sustainable solutions and inspire others to join the movement for a better future."
Global Peace is committed to building community resilience through a programmatic framework, which focuses on a long-term sustainable approach towards poverty eradication.
