New Eco-Plus concept store strengthens commitment to affordable essentials amidst rising living costs.
Eco-shop, Malaysia’s leading affordable household retailer, celebrates a significant milestone with the opening of its 300th store at NU Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, coinciding with its 21st anniversary. This latest addition is also part of Eco-shop’s expansion of its Eco-Plus concept, a store format designed to provide an elevated shopping experience while maintaining the brand’s commitment to affordability.
The NU Sentral store is the third Eco-Plus Concept Store, following successful openings in other locations. This concept was developed to offer urban shoppers a wider variety of household items, kitchenware, personal care products, and snacks at exclusive fixed price points of RM 2.40, RM 6.00, and RM 10.00 only available at NU Sentral store. With an emphasis on convenience and affordability, the Eco-Plus concept is a reflection of Eco-shop’s evolving approach to meeting the needs of today’s fast-paced consumers.
“Reaching 300 stores is more than just a number for us. It’s a testament to the trust and support of Malaysians who have embraced Eco-shop as a source of affordable essentials in challenging times,” said Jessica Ng, Chief Executive Officer of Eco-shop Malaysia.
“As families and individuals grapple with the rising cost of living, we remain committed to easing that burden by offering essential products at prices everyone can afford. Additionally, with our loyalty app now boasting over 1.5 million members, we reward our valued customers with benefits designed to enhance their shopping experience.”
Eco-shop’s rapid expansion across Malaysia reflects its deep understanding of the needs of local communities. The new NU Sentral store features self-checkout counters, catering to urban dwellers who are often in a rush, allowing them to enjoy a quicker and more efficient shopping experience. With over 10,000 products available, shoppers can conveniently find everything they need, from food and cleaning supplies to stationery and pet care.
“Our Eco-Plus Concept store is a direct response to what Malaysians value most - affordability and convenience in obtaining daily necessities. As we continue to grow and making lives easier for all, we aim to bring these essentials closer to more communities across the country,” said Jessica.
